LEVELATOR VOCALS HOW TO
There are probably many other ways out there on how to achieve this voice, but for now, this is just how I make an Inkling voice using Audacity. That audio there has been Leveled out, and if you put it back in Audacity, it should sound really good!įeel Creative in this! Use it for however you'd like, for comic dubs or even just for fun. You can change it to whatever you desire, as your voice might be different than mine and might require different settings.ĭrag your file into the box that appears onto your screen, and another copy of that file should appear on your desk top. Below is the settings I set the "Wahwah" to, and got the result that I used for the final audio product. I'm gonna go through the steps that I personally went through myself, but you can go ahead and try other effects and see if you can achieve the same results as me!įirst off, I started with Wahwah. This tutorial is gonna rely A LOT on the different effects Audacity provides us! The one's that we're gonna need are the. (You will use the "Noise Reduction" tool in the "Effects" tab.) Go through and take out any background noise that was caught by the microphone. Take out breaths you don't want, or maybe go back and record some new material instead. Then, whenever you are happy with your recording session, go ahead and press the gray box, the one Circle 3 is on, to end your recording.įrom here, make sure to clean up your audio. When recording your own audio, make sure to leave about five seconds of dead air before you speak so that you can edit out the background noise on your audio. Whenever you are ready to record, press the red button with a red circle on it, circled on the screenshot as Circle 2. Mine is currently set on my computer's default microphone which is the one it comes with, but if I was recording I would like that set to "Blue Yeti" instead. On 1 Circle, make sure Audacity is using the correct microphone for recording. There are many good tutorials on YouTube on how to record your voice, but I'll give a short tutorial here. Make sure the audio doesn't have any background noise, is clear, and is raw all by itself. I personally just pulled up one of my old auditions on casting call. The Levelator (Price: FREE! This step is also optional! Link here -> )įirst, it's time to record your voice, or get provided voice lines from you voice provider. A Voice Provider (I used my own voice for this) Just make sure you get clear recordings from it.) A microphone (Any Microphone is fine, I personally use a Blue Yeti. There probably is a way you can put a filter over the voice and are able to understand what is being said, and you could maybe use this guide as a way to maybe find that out! This tutorial doesn't work very well for singing either, as you might have to speed up or down your audio to get your desired outcome. Note: In this tutorial, you probably won't be able to make out what you are saying, as it's supposed to imitate how the inklings in game sound.

Today I'm here to show you how I did it and how you can do it yourself.
